Dr. William Ventres comes to us with more than 25 years experience as a community based, board certified family physician in both ambulatory and hospital settings. His work has been focused on care of the underserved and minority populations in safety net clinics and corrections health, attending principally to economically poor and socially marginalized patients. He has won several local and national awards for published work and currently serves on the editorial boards for two internationally recognized academic journals.
Dr. Ventres is a graduate of Duke University, and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He holds a Master's degree in Anthropology and in Systems Counseling/Psychology. He has taught family medicine residents in Venezuela, and MPH students in El Salvador. He is fluent in Spanish.
