Dr. Deneke initially joined the faculty at UAMS in 2005 as an Assistant Professor of Medicine for the Division of General Internal Medicine. While faculty, he served as Medical Director of the ambulatory teaching clinic for internal medicine residents and as the Associate Practice Director for UAMS Internal Medicine Clinics. After five years, Dr. Deneke stepped down as faculty to pursue additional training in gastroenterology and hepatology. He rejoined the UAMS faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2014. He is currently the program director for the UAMS Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. He is a part of the UAMS Liver Transplant team and also operates the UAMS Fatty Liver Disease Clinic.
His clinical interests include liver disease, with a focus on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, complications of liver disease, and liver transplantation.
