Dr. Borja is an Assistant Professor of surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He graduated Suma Cum Laude from La Salle University Medical School in Mexico City in 2000. He then completed a full General Surgery residency at the National Institute for Nutrition and Health Sciences in Mexico City. After this, he furthered his training with three separate fellowships at the University of Minnesota: Pancreatic Cancer Research Fellowship, Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery Fellowship and a Liver, Pancreas and Liver Transplant Surgery Fellowship.
He came to UAMS in 2011 and is the Director of the Liver Transplant Surgery Division at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), as well as part of the liver and pancreas cancer program of the Surgical Oncology Clinic.
