Dr. Liudmila N. Schafer is a hematologist and medical oncologist at the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is also an Assistant Professor in the UAMS Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology.
Dr. Schafer received her medical degree from the Academy of Medicine of Bialystok in Bialystok, Poland. She then pursued specialized training in hematology-oncology and bone marrow transplant at Wake Forest University, Oncology-Bone Marrow Transplant Center at Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC and Vanderbilt Ingram-Cancer Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Schafer is board certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Dr. Schafer is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of PHysicians, the American Medical Association, the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC) and the Arkansas Medical Society. Her primary clinical and research interests are gastrointestinal cancers, thoracic cancers and some genitourinary cancers.
