Dr. Zachary Stowe completed his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He was a resident in the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center, and then in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. He then completed a research fellowship in Psychopharmacology at Emory.
Prior to coming to UAMS, Dr. Stowe was the Director of the Women’s Mental Health Program at Emory University School of Medicine, a position that he held for 10 years.
In 2010, Dr. Stowe was honored as with the Distinguished Mentor Award. He has also been recognized as a Top 100 Doctor in America and listed in the top 100 U.S. psychiatrists.
Dr. Stowe also is active in research to help women’s mental health for decades to come. His specific research topics include: the predictors of illness during pregnancy, pharmacogentetic influences on fetal exposures and the impact of maternal mental illness/ medication exposure on the development track of the child.
