Mohamed I. Kamel, M.D. is an Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is board certified in Urology by both the European and British Boards of Urology. As a specialist in cancer of the prostate, bladder and kidney, Dr. Kamel received his formal residency training in urology in Ireland, where he also graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons. He completed fellowship training in urogenital cancer management at the University of Miami. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt.
At UAMS, he continues to treat patients with urogenital cancer, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and bladder cancer. His clinical interests and research focus on treatments for these conditions. He continues to research new da Vinci Robotic Surgery methods to help his patients.
He has three times received the Irish Journal of Medical Science Research Award for best published research from Ireland in international journal, as well as the Irish Society of Urology Clinical Research Award and the Young Investigator Award from the Egyptian Society of Urology in conjunction with the European Association of Urology.
