Dr. Betul Gundogdu is an Associate Professor of Neurology at University of Arkansas for Medical Services. Dr. Gundogdu received her M.D. degree from Istanbul University Capa School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey and completed her neurology residency in 2001 at the University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. In 2002 she completed her Fellowship in EMG/ Clinical Neurophysiology from the University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. She had further training in Neuromuscular Diseases/Muscle and Nerve Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota as well as Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, which she completed in 2004.
In 2005 Dr. Gundogdu started as a full time Staff Neurologist at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System in Little Rock, Arkansas as well as an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UAMS. She became a full time faculty member at UAMS in 2010 and has been an Associate Professor in our Neurology department since 2012.
Dr. Gundogdu has been regularly presented with the Best Doctors in Arkansas award from Best Doctors in America, Inc. since 2011. In 2014 she was given the EMG teaching award from graduating residents. Dr. Gundogdu holds certifications in American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine as well as Certification by UCNS for Neuromuscular Pathology.
