Dr. Aclin is the Director of Pediatric Education and attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He completed his pediatric training at UAMS, and is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Aclin served six years active duty in the United States Air Force where he was Chief of Outpatient Pediatrics and the Nursery at Kessler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, as well as a consultant to the surgeon general of the Air Force. After his discharge from the Air Force, he came to Fort Smith, where he was in private practice from 1971 until joining UAMS West in 1998.
Dr. Aclin is continuing his work on a study on Cadmium levels in children. He was again named Best Doctor in America in 2012. He continues to lead our Reach Out and Read program. Dr. Aclin also supports the NICU and Pediatric departments at our affiliated hospital, Sparks Health System.
He and his wife, Kay, have four children and eight grandchildren. Dr. Aclin's spare time is spread between golf, tennis and hunting.
